Green Function of the Dirichlet Problem for the Laplacian and Inhomogeneous Boundary Value Problems The aim of this work is to present a new definition of the Green function of the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation prompted by the theory of ordinary differential equations and investigate correctly solvable boundary value problems for the Poisson equation in a punctured domain.

On Existence of the Resolvent and Discreteness of the Spectrum of a Class of Differential Operators The existence and compactness of the resolvent and discreteness of the spectrum of some hyperbolic differential operators are studied in this paper. One of the main results is the criterion of discreteness of the spectrum of a hyperbolic singular differential operator.
