The Patrick Moore Practical Astronomy Seriesactive in the removal of cellular debris. Recovery from this insult was not observed. Four weeks after exposure much of the previously illuminated retina was reduced to disorganised Müller cells and occasional macrophages.

In control eyes, not treated with PG, no extravasation of the tracer was found. The study indicates that the iridial blood vessels contribute to the production of the plasmoid aqueous humour induced by PGE. in the rabbit eye.
