Lecture Notes in Earth Scienceslectrons. The problem of beginning with a very basic Hamiltonian, and recasting it to show localized moments and conduction properties is considered using degenerate perturbation theory. The result is a spin-Hamiltonian of typical form for the localized moments, with conduction electrons as well. At no point is crystal field theory invoked.

https://doi.org/10.1007/BFb0011851a have been analysed following a Green’s functions formalism to obtain the Fourier transform of interactions. The dispersion curves are well reproduced, but their precise energy position requires the addition of second order terms in the starting Hamiltonian.

Gene Cooperman,G. Michler,H. Vinckns from cubic symmetry and couplings to excited electronic states. In the limit of strong anharmonicity, using a dynamic lattice model, it is possible to reproduce the splittings of one of the E.P.R. lines in the regime of both strong and weak inversion splitting.
