Hopelessly Adrift? Cosmopolitanism, Global Citizenship, and Moral Commitmenth a theoretical and an empirical framework. At a time when discourses of global citizenship and belonging are being replaced by the language of nationalism and parochial insularity, I argue that cosmopolitanism can continue to illuminate sociological understanding of how openness and acceptance have an ongoing capacity to combat fear and hate.
