Our brain interprets photons of these energies as colors: photons reflected by plant leaves, which have a typical energy of 2.2 eV, are interpreted as green, while those reflected by the surface of a lake when the sky is clear, which have a typical energy of 2.6 eV, are interpreted as blue.
