The Convergence-Confinement Method for a Tunnel Driven in an Elastic Medium,ss are derived under the assumption of isotropic and anisotropic initial stress state. These analytical solutions are used for the application of the convergence-confinement method which permits to determine the support pressure and the corresponding radial displacement at the tunnel wall at the final equilibrium state.
