Culex Tritaeniorhynchus,es have been tested for the control of this mosquito in the laboratory and in the field, particularly in Japan and Korea. Thus, it was demonstrated by several investigators that it is difficult to control this species by the residual spraying of insecticides as a result of its exophilic characteristics (Fukui et al., 1957; Nishigaki, 1970).

Culex Pipiens Fatigans,ates (Horsfall 1955). . is known to breed in waters with varying degrees of pollution, primarily soakage pits, household drains, cesspools and puddles. However, even in the absence of such water collections, the species readily breeds in clear waters such as wells and pools in river beds (Raghavan 1961).
