Jeetendra Khadan,Inder Jit Ruprahns prepared for examination in the TEM. A catalogue of dislocation substructures has been obtained from these specimens From these substructures and the observations of other workers it has been possible to rationalise the short crack behaviour of the two alloys in terms of the slip distribution.

Microstructures and Crack Opening in a Nickel-Base Superalloy Deformed by In-Situ Tensile Tests., sample’s orientation..Different dislocation arrangements formed in the sample, and particularly near a crack-tip were observed. Their analysis indicated evidence of the activation of non common slip systems in the superalloy.
