The Resilience of Democracy and Social Movements in Indonesia,d national levels. The chapter concludes that while these labor groups are not under complete governmental control, as they were during the era of the New Order (1960s–1990s), they remain under government considerable influence and therefore cannot be expected to play a strong role in advancing Indonesia democracy.
