Dynamics of Acoustic Phonon Decay: Experiment and Simulationral dynamics associated with anharmonic decay are determined using an absorption vibronic sideband spectrometer. Experimental results are compared with Monte Carlo simulations based upon the isotropic dispersionless model for spontaneous three phonon anharmonic processes.

The 2d/3D Classical Heisenberg Ferromagnet .. ~ 0.6. The phase transition has unusual features reminiscent of a Kosterlitz-Thouless (topological) phase transition; it is suggested that topological defects may play an important role in the ordering of this system.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4613-0679-5 v and the dynamic critical exponent z at this transition are in good agreement with experiments. In d = 4 dimensions the gauge glass transition is located at T ≈ 0.95. It is concluded that the lack of time reversal symmetry in the model places it into a universality class different from that of the XY spin glass.
