Coherence Effects on the Exciton Radiative Recombination in Quantum Wells,of collisions, the decay rate of near k = 0 2D excitons integrates individual dipole elements over the whole quantum well volume. The radiative lifetime of 2D excitons is then very short of the order of 10ps [3–6].

Spin-Related Effects in III-V Semiconductors,ns and by applied magnetic fields. Clearly this fine structure needs to be considered in the context of coherent optical phenomena since spin reorientation may be significant for optical dephasing and splittings can give rise to quantum beating.
