Trace Element and Mineral Nutrition in Skeletal Health and Diseaseque nutritional relationship to bone, inasmuch as they are its bulk constituents. The mechanical properties of the skeleton are direct functions of its mineral mass, other things being equal. The nutritional relationship of these minerals to bone is, thus, straightforward, involving bulk transfer from food sources to bone.
