Ocean Circulation,f ocean circulation are reviewed here, largely following the presentations in standard texts. However the dynamics of the equatorial ocean in particular are still at the focus of current research and new perspectives are imminent.

Interannual Variability of the Atmosphere-Ocean System,riability of the combined atmosphere-hydrosphere system are manifest in changes of the atmospheric and oceanic circulation and extreme events — especially rainfall anomalies — in the regional climates. Regional climate anomalies appear in part related to circulation changes on the scale of the global tropics.
