The accuracy for the quasienergy spectrum improves accordingly. Moreover, we thus explain why the previous leading-order treatment gave the mentioned 3% accuracy.

Ionization of hydrogen atoms by circularly polarized microwaves,em reveals similarities and, sometimes, strong differences between the two systems. Both are of value for deepening the understanding of the nature of the ionization process as well as, more generally, of quantum systems which classically exhibit irregular or mixed regular-irregular behaviour.
