,Moving Beyond the “Plight of Civility” and Future Research on Civility and Democratic Education,beyond the “plight of civility” in positive ways and by recognising that cultivating civility involves habits of the mind and heart. The chapter also identifies three research priorities, each with associated research questions, which might usefully guide further theoretical and empirical research about educating civility in schools.
