By chemotherapy we now mean simply the treatment of disease by drugs (the word medicines has unhappily been eclipsed). The distinction made between chemotherapy and non- chemical therapy (e. g. , radiation, physiotherapy, surgical intervention, immu- nomodulation) remains useful despite some minor overlapping.
