Why Model Chemical Exposure?Chemicals are either destroyed by use and thus producing degradation compounds, or released into the sewers and the air, or dumped, or incinerated after use. A small, but increasing fraction is used again (recycled). Compounds released from the technosphere usually enter the biosphere.

Transport and Transformation Processes important processes are transport, e.g. flowing with a river and reaction, e.g. photodegradation. We now will consider these processes in more detail.
