SpringerBriefs in Crystallographyon and chemical evolution are, in consequence, fundamental aspects of nature whose investigation is basic to space chemistry. Because the physical conditions in these clouds are quite extreme by the standards of the terrestrial laboratory, they provide a chemical environment which is quite different from that normally encountered on Earth.
