Nuclear Waste Managementcess. This unique ability to convert sulphur to sulphuric acid is described. A key feature of the paper will be the comparison of biological processes with their chemical counter-parts for nuclear waste management, but importantly to highlight the additional benefits of bioremediation.

Role of Humics in Actinide Behavior in Ecosystemsls and in natural waters is reviewed. A number of models have been proposed to discribe these interactions and to allow geochemical evaluation of the effect of humics on radionuclides which might be accidentally or deliberately discharged into soils and waters. Brief discriptions of some of the more useful models are provided.

Review of Non-Aqueous Nuclear Fuel Reprocessing and Separation Methodsnd analysis is made. The technologies developed by SSC RIAR for production and reprocessing of oxide fuel are described in detail. A brief review of current activity on pyro-processes in Japan is also given.
