Method of Separating and Determining the Free Carbon in Materials Containing Refractory Compounds,stematic investigation into the chemical properties of various carbon materials and establish their phase relationship, we studied two ways of separating free carbon from refractory compounds: the removal of free carbon by roasting in a muffle furnace at 850°C, and the “wet” oxidation technique.

Interaction of Refractory Group V Metals with Zinc,allic phases belonging to the systems in question. We see that the structure and parameters of the unit cell have only been determined for a few of these compounds. The Nb-Zn system is the one which has been most studied.
