The Effect of Acute Hypocapnia on the Response to Inhaled CO2 in Man Pco. was maintained constant at different levels. This paper with the work of Nielsen and Smith (1952) and that of Lloyd et al. (1958) represent major early attempts at a quantitative analysis of the relationship and interaction between a rise of P.. and lack of oxygen as ventilatory stimuli in man.

Neural Control of the Bronchomotor-System interest from the clinical point of view. Patients with certain lung diseases die mostly because of disturbances in the mechanical behaviour of the “ventilation machine.” Therefore, it seems worthwhile also to consider the regulation of the bronchomotor-system as an important part of the regulation of breathing.
