CNTs in Solubility Enhancement,ic on their sidewalls and tips using hydrophilic groups such as ammonium and –COOH (Dyke and Tour, Chem Eur J 10:812–817, .). Such functionalization has also been achieved by nanotubes through surfactants and polymers.

Regulatory Considerations of Carbon Nanotubes,. Alternatively, there may be justified issues and the uses of CNTs may adversely affect human health and the ecosystem. It is possible to avoid some of these health effects by avoiding particular CNTs.
