Encouraging new technology links between industrial and teaching institutions: Aston Science Park come from small firms operating in areas of high technology. In the USA there are many successful science parks but in the UK the science park concept has been much less successful. This paper reviews the US situation and lays down the basis upon which the Aston Science Park has been established.
