Secondly, processes are formalized through semantic annotations that allow a logical state space to be created. The intersection of the two allows us to devise an efficient method to detect compliance gaps.

Introduction to the Fourth Workshop on Business Process Design (BPD 2008)Sweden, Tunisia, and the United Kingdom. Of these submissions, 19 were sent out to the Workshop Program Committee members for review; Each paper received at least three reviews. Based on these evaluations, seven papers were selected for presentation at this year’s edition of the workshop.

Abductive Workflow Miningtive workflow is defined, and an initial method for discovering abductive workflows is presented. Preliminary experiments show that relatively small and concise abductive workflow models can be constructed, in comparison with constructing a complete model for the entire log.
