When we create business applications, we are establishing a virtual microcosm of the business itself. As a source of truth, the timeline that the application creates can be an official timeline for the question of “what happened?”.

I then introduced reactive systems via the Reactive Manifesto and my rationale for why to build a business application as a reactive system. Finally, I described my categorizations of business rules and how time is an important (and sometimes underappreciated) dimension.
