Sebastian Kirchner,Thomas Breyer-Mayl?nderc part of logic. The foundations of such a theory were laid down by Aristotle through his theory of syllogism. The modern approach to the subject is due to Gentzen (1934-5) who proposed two different analyses of deduction:
