Rare Applications of Blue Laser Therapy in Laryngology,division. The first nine chapters of this book have addressed blue laser used for common lesions of the vocal folds. This chapter illustrates the application of blue laser for less common conditions and purposes including incision for implant placement, resection of supraglottic masses, treatment of partially extruded implants, and other uses.

Blue lasers have high absorption in hemoglobin, melanin, and pigment, and the blue laser has almost complete transparency in water. It is ideal for precise vocal fold surgery.
