The RacewayThe first quantitative study of the raceway formed at the blast furnace tuyere was conducted by Wagstaff and co-workers. in the 1950s. Afterwards various measurements and blast furnace observations were carried out by use of cold and hot models and experimental and commercial blast furnaces.
