This chapter provides an overview of recent studies aimed to explore the impact of both internal and external mechanical stimulations on vascularization of 3D engineered tissues and will propose future directions to advance some of the current challenges.

Physiological and Pathological Vascular Aging,idative stress, inflammation, or senescence; and (4) altered responses of vascular cells to flow shear stress. Finally, we will discuss in vitro systems to study vascular aging, particularly the effect of biomechanics in aged cells as well as the effect of drugs during vascular aging.
