Contact inhibition in the endothelium-established, non-transformed cell type able to maintain this property in culture. Endothelium in culture retains a monolayer configuration while being readily passaged for multiple generations to the best of our knowledge, passaged cells retain the functions of a normal, non-transformed genome (13–16).
