Current Use of Legume Inoculant Technology,, primarily the development of high yielding grains, would solve the problem. Unfortunately the grains require large amounts of nitrogen fertilizer, the price of which has soared over the years because of the cost and scarcity of the fossil fuels required for its commercial synthesis.
