Plasminogen Activator from Cultured Cells and from Blood Plasma,Plasminogen is the zymogen precursor of the protease plasmin, which accounts for almost 0.5% of the plasma proteins in the blood of higher animals. It consists of a single polypeptide chain with a molecular weight of ca. 90,000 daltons. Its covalent structure has been established recently (Sottrup-Jensen et al., 1977).
