Kipling and the Eighteen-Nineties,A book on biomagnetism would be incomplete if it did not mention— at least in a qualitative way—a further mechanism and its relation to biomagnetic phenomena. P.O. L?wdin. has drawn attention to the fact that the quantum mechanical effect of proton tunneling may show up in some processes in which biological amplification plays a role.
