Systems Biology clock provides an excellent example of critically time dependent behaviour. The techniques are then extended to multiple pathway integration, and then even further to cellular systems biology. A major Seventh Framework Programme initiative has led to several new and large projects in several of these areas.

Genetic Variation and Diseasessis are considered. By an exploration of the possible integration of various initiatives, the way forward in this field is analysed. Current research in the Sixth Framework Programme is outlined, and a major initiative in the Seventh Framework Programme to tackle many aspects of these problems is portrayed.
