Selbstregulation und Lebendigkeit,lenges that must be faced in order to get the correct performance of an anaerobic digester, such as recalcitrant compounds, low ratio of C/N, and inhibition for the generation of fatty acids or ammonia content. The aim of this chapter is to explain potential and challenges of the use of micro- and macroalgae as feedstock for biogas production.
