,Grubenbr?nde, Atmungs- und Rettungsger?te,ers. These treatments tend to alter the surface morphology and chemical structure for enhancing the adhesive strength between fiber and matrix. Mechanisms that are involved in this enhancement are the increase in fiber surface roughness and alteration in chemical polarity of natural fibers.

In addition, the performance of the biobased composites under various environmental conditions has also been discussed. Due to the extensive literature available, we have considered studies that are distinct and have been reported in the recent years.
