Superoxide Ion,One-electron reductions of dioxygen form superoxide ion, O. (Sawyer and Valentine, 1981). Although triplet dioxygen is a rather poor one-electron oxidant, superoxide ion is a strong one-electron oxidant if protons are available.

Metal-Dioxygen Complexes,There has been considerable interest in metal chelates that will complex with dioxygen.
