Effects of Ethanol on Protein Synthesis,heart, the pancreas, the liver, the muscles, and the peripheral nervous systems are well documented (1–4). However, the mechanism of destructive action on these various tissues are not as clearly understood.

Alcohol, Aldehydes and Biogenic Amines,tters or modulators of neuronal function. The significance of the biogenic amines in this respect has prompted a diversity of research into the effects of ethanol, and one of its metabolites, acetaldehyde, on the metabolism, turnover, uptake and storage of the biogenic amines.
