Industry in Community-Level Coalitions and land vary. This chapter briefly describes the factors influencing the erection of a belt dryer and the production costs for dried sludge. Also, the costs for sludge disposal or for usage as a fertilizer determines economics of a drying project.

Industry-Led Growth: Issues and Facts,The importance of proper selected conveying units is underestimated. Failures of a drying plant are often related to the conveying system suffering from blocking or wearing effects. The different conveying systems for dewatered and dried sludge are compared and in some cases design features are presented.

Introduction,and ending with 145°C for safety reasons. It is emphasized that sludge is a sink for harmful substances and that these substances do not simple vanish but stay in sludge or are transferred to exhaust air and/or to condensate.
