Volker Schumpelick,Andrew N. Kingsnorthonsibilities that those who promote interdisciplinarity have for smoothing the path for those whose careers they are influencing. Not least, this raises questions about the role that teaching currently plays in securing university contracts and the disadvantages that this may present to interdisciplinarians.
