On the reconstruction of urban house roofs from aerial imagesint triangulation network, and that line segment matching, 3D reconstruction, coplanar grouping and polygonal patch formation are initialized from corresponding regions in different views. Each polygon hypothesis is tested for consistency with the 2D and 3D data, and, if necessary, it is changed accordingly.

An interactive system allows efficient editing of results by making use of the analysis performed by the automatic system; it also allows for some initial preparation of the data to improve results of the automatic system.
