Many authors have written in detail about fat transplantation; however, experience and education are never enough on any of the cosmetic ? elds. The ? rst text on fat transplantation by Charles H. Willi dates back to 1926. This means that someone before us understood the importance of autologous resources that we have. The technique has naturally evolved and has developed in these years. It is of utmost importance for a cosmetic surgeon to know every detail about the techniques: anatomy, metabolism of fat, pharmacology, and eventually the treatment of compli- tions. A simple procedure is not necessarily a procedure that has no complications. All over the world and all over the centuries beauty has been a great spiritual force and has affected the evolution of civilization.
