影響因子A bioaerosol is a colloidal suspension of liquid droplets orsolid particles in air whose components contain or have attached tothemone or more microorganisms. Bioaerosols are an exciting andvitalobject of study because the attached microbes play a criticalrole inhuman, animal and environmental health. In an era ofgeneticallyengineered microorganisms and the application ofbiopesticides,bioaerosols are increasingly an environmental problem,both indoorsand outdoors, and can affect entire ecosystems.Atmospheric MicrobialAerosols examines naturally occuringbioaerosols, as well asbioaerosols generated by human activity.Included in this volume is acomplete array of topics concerned withoutdoor microbial bioaerosolsranging from the physical and chemicalto the meteorological andmicrobial. It will be of great interest asa starting point forresearchers interested in outdoor microbialbioaerosols as well asfor those interested in atmospheric dispersionmodels, new equipment,and government regulations.

Atmospheric Environment of Bioaerosols,rvival of organisms contained in the droplets. Combined effects of the dispersion, removal, and survival of microorganisms in sprayed droplets determine the area and period affected by sprayed aerosols.

Resuscitation of Microbial Bioaerosols,ons are far removed from conditions in the “natural” environment. In the latter case, the microorganisms are subjected to consistent fluxes in very low (“suboptimal”) levels of nutrients. Attempts to grow these microorganisms in a laboratory environment where nutrients are plentiful often stresses microorganisms and impairs their ability to grow.
