VOC are emitted from anthropogenic and biogenicsources. Whereas our understanding of VOC emissions from anthropogenicsources has advanced significantly in recent years, there is still alack of knowledge concerning the contribution of biogenic VOC to thebudget of organic trace gases and their impact on the formation ofozone in the troposphere. Improving ozone reduction strategies in thefuture requires a detailed understanding of the chemical processes inthe troposphere. .This book comprises the results of atmospheric measurements obtainedduring the field campaign POPCORN (.P.hoto-.O.xidant Formationby .P.lant Emitted .C.ompounds and .O.H .R.adicals in.N.orth-Eastern Germany) which was carried out to investigate therole and impact of biogenic trace gases on tropospheric chemistry. This volume describes meteorological situations and origins of airmasses during the campaign, and presents measurements of a variety oftrace gases, solar radiation and photolysis frequencies. Specialattention is given to OH radical measurements and the in-situcomparison of the | | Pindex | Book 1998 |
