The Irrationality of Being Rational, pancreatic parenchyma is lobulated. Each lobule is surrounded by connective tissue and is served by blood vessels and nerves. The pancreas is both an exocrine and an endocrine gland. This chapter will focus on the features of the exocrine pancreas, although the endocrine pancreas and non-parenchymal elements will be included to some extent.
