The Aesthetic Symbol,and its purpose is to carry information. Almost with one accord, though, aestheticians deny that art is either cognitive or practical in its proper function. Consequently most of them reject the theory that a work of art is a symbol as a visciously intellectualistic theory which misses the whole meaning of fine art.

Concepts in Aesthetic Experience,knowledge or in their knowledge of other things. Some are even able to find in such knowledge a source of what they reportedly recognize as an aesthetic experience. These facts propose a problem: what is the relation between clear and distinct concepts and the aesthetic experience?
