影響因子This book brings together the latest information on the rapid advances and developments in the field of aquatic ecology. India is very rich in terms of biological diversity due to its wide range of habitats and climatic conditions. It is home to as much as 7 per cent of the world’s animal species, although it only accounts for about 2 per cent of the total landmass. The present work on biodiversity, ecology and conservation of aquatic resources represents original research in the field of aquatic biodiversity, wetland ecology and its applications with reference to the country’s aquatic resources. There are 19 chapters, each contributed by an expert in his/her particular field and offering novel approaches to various topics in the area of aquatic ecosystems.

Odonata of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India,n and Nicobar Islands support unique assemblages of dragonflies and damselflies comprising many species. Further studies are required to better understand the population ecology, habitat destruction and other anthropogenic disturbances to conserve the unique population.

,Length–Weight Relationship and Condition Factor in , (Bloch) from Hussainsagar Lake, Hyderabad, And respectively. Deviation in the cube law was observed, and the condition factor showed continuous decrease with increase in length indicating a physiological response of the fishes to different environmental conditions of the lake waters.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-531-91213-4 the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh has been jointly declared as the National Chambal Sanctuary. Present studies deal with fish fauna from the Rajasthan part of the Chambal River and various other factors governing their diversity and distribution.

Galloanserae and Aquatic Neoaves of Pong Dam Wetland, Himachal Pradesh: Status and Conservation Issves were abundant. The status of 3.03 % species was uncertain and their occurrence seems doubtful. Pong Dam wetland is also facing anthropogenic pressure in the form of urbanization/settlements, unplanned agriculture and resource extraction.
