Instability Monitoring and Control of Power Systems,articipation factors are introduced as a tool to aid in selection of locations for probe inputs and outputs to be monitored. Since these participation factors are model-based, the chapter combines signal-based and model-based ideas toward achieving a robust methodology for instability monitoring.
