Plant Distribution in Gondwana During the Late Paleozoic,, Vakhrameiev et al. 1970, Cha- loner and Meyen 1973, Chaloner and Lacey 1973). The new paleogeographical data also provide an exceptional tool for paleobotanists to explain some anomalies in plant distribution that were, if at all, marginally considered.

The South Polar Forest Ecosystem,ergy input either directly or indirectly. The solar input of about 3500 megajoules/m./yr (Farman and Hamilton 1987; LaGrange 1963) for high latitudes in Antartica will determine for the continent a temperature ecosystem.
