Some Properties of Eutectic “Crystals” of MnO-MnS a two-phase “crystal” with one orientation. Slip bands were not noticeably influenced by phase boundaries. Hardness values vary with microstructural alignment. Wider lamellae introduced greater hardness. The thermal expansion of the eutectic is slightly less than either MnS or MnO alone.
